Child support is not just a number, although in many cases it becomes reduced to just that. We like to work with families to encourage them to see support as a continuing obligation to be present financially, emotionally and physically (as appropriate) in their child(ren)'s lives. The purpose of support is to ensure that children have the financial resources they need to maintain an adequate lifestyle, and receive proper education, medical attention, child care, and support for special expenses, as appropriate.

Circumstances can increase or decrease an award, or the amount you are required to pay, and we will ensure that all relevant factors are taken into consideration. If an order is in place, we also will remind you to periodically review the order, as conditions that were in place at the time of the order, such as income, children’s special needs or other things change over time.
